It comes with great sadness to inform all our members and players that Tom Mc Dermott passed away Thursday morning after a long battle with cancer.

Tom coached many of our juniors throughout the years and was always around the ground helping out when needed.

2014 Seniors Presentation Night

presentationNight2014

The St. George Randwick Hockey Club Seniors Presentation Night will be held on Saturday the 1st of November at Kyeemagh RSL. We will be starting at 5pm and is a smart casual dress code. Finger food will be included at no cost.

We are following the same structure as last year, although this year the RSL club has a band starting at 8pm, Ironbark Rock for those that want to stay and have a meal at the bistro.

A bus will be arranged to take people into the Newtown area around 7:30pm to continue the night with a few drinks there. This will be a small charge per head. This will allow people to carry on into the city later if they would like, and also allow for those drinking to get home easily on the train, bus or taxi.

Your team managers will be contacting you soon to work out numbers

For those that don’t know, George that was running the bistro has been replaced by RSL staff and volunteers. So please come down, have a meal and a beer, when you can to support the RSL. Friday night meat trays and seafood trays are a good opportunity!

Wives, girlfriends and partners welcome.

UPDATE: The Bus has been cancelled due to lack of interest. There are still a few people looking to head into the city/Newtown after the presso, and will be organising taxis on the night for those interested.

Flight Night

flightNight

Attention passengers in the terminal, this is a final call for all members of the St George Randwick Hockey Club. You are invited to the Kyeemagh RSL lounge for a pre-boarding party in celebration of what has been a wonderful season.

Yep, thats right, Flight Night @ The Cockpit. Come one, come all for a night of Flight themed frivolity.
The night will be a chance for you to dress up in anything even remotely related to the airport or flying high and celebrate the many successes of the season and of course share a story or two here and there.

“But what do I wear?” you say…Here are some ideas:
* Baggage handler
* Flight Steward/Stewardess
* Pilot/Captain
* Plane Engineer
* Customs – Inspector, Beagle
* Limo Driver
OR anything that you think works

It would be great to see everyone embrace the theme and get into the spirit of the event.
There will be an award for best dressed on the night.

The night will start at 8pm, though we encourage everyone to come down, support the guys playing the later games and have dinner at the club before hand.

NSW O/35s Womens National Champions

Congratulations to Amelia Smith (Coach of our U/15) Karen Dowden, Georgina Gunner & Sheridan Gorman who were part of the Undefeated NSW team who won the national championships in Darwin without a goal being scored against them. From all reports all the girls played very well, and a special mention to Amelia Smith who scored in the final to help the NSW team win the championship.IMG_2427IMG_2428
