St George Randwick Juniors Support Pink Ribbon Day

St George Randwick Juniors held a "Pink Ribbon Day" at their recent girls clinic to help raise funds for breast cancer research. Every one had to wear pink, including the coaches, and there was lots of pink cupcakes and treats. The only party pooper was Ash who insisted he was all pink on the inside!! There will be further fundraisers during the year and all donations will be given to the McGrath Foundation.

Welcome to the 2012 season

Welcome to the 2012 Hockey season. I hope you all enjoyed the break and are pumped for the year ahead.

This year is shaping up to be a good year for St George Randwick so far the numbers are good for each of the teams so we hopefully can avoid the major issue that we had to deal with last year of double ups and team disruption. In addition to the increased player numbers we also have had a number of players training from all grades which is good to see. Training start times Premier league Tuesday 6:30pm-8:30pm Thursday 6:30pm-8 30pm south side of the Turf.

All players from 1st and 2nd grade last year if you have not already done so are to start training this Tuesday.

1st Division As you some of may be aware Brad McDonall, Andre Cabral and the Matthews Boys will be Coaching this division on Tuesday night 6:30pm-8:30pm North side of the Turf.

3rd and 4th Division Tuesday 8:30pm- 9:30pm, BUT for the next few weeks please come at 6.30pm to train on the north end of the turf. (when numbers get too high we will have to go to 8.30pm).

We have organized a Coach for you guys this year, Rick will be carrying out training drills for Players in these grades wishing to train so please attend and use the time slots wisely, turf time this year is very hard to obtain.

On behalf of the Board, I would like to wish you all a successful and enjoyable season

Regards

Ben Hardy
President

Kirsty Andersen from the same SEPL team has received First Class Honours for her Post Graduate degree in Physiology. Her work involved the study of two of our promising junior representative players, Will Jessup-Smith and Gabriella Lee. Well done Kirsty - if you have worked out how to get more of our kids to play like Will and Gabby then please let us in on the secret!!!

The junior club have also get some personal achievements to spruik about.

Matt Fleming has been appointed as School Captain for Hurstville Christian School for 2012. Next year will be a big one for Matt with his year 12 school commitments and NSW Rep hockey training commitments as well. Well Done Matt!!

It is fantastic to see such a talented group of people involved in our club and we are very lucky to have them. It is a fitting reward for all their hard work and its great to see their talents recognised in their chosen endeavours. Well Done guys, we are all proud of you!!!

Indoor Hockey is coming to a close for 2011. We have 3 junior teams. the U18s were minor premiers and will play in the finals next week. Stay tuned for the game times. A bit of support goes a long way!! Our U13 narrowly missed out on the semi finals and our other U13 team also had an enjoyable season.
