Jamie Murray retires from 1st grade

Long time Saints player Jamie Murray has decided to hang up his boots, after driving from Robertson every week for 16 years. Jamie has been an amazing stalwart for the club, a hard and dedicated trainer, a skillful 1st grader and an absolute gentleman... he will be sadly missed.

Jamie's kids are playing hockey down in Highlands now, so Jamie will be devoting more weekend time to watching them play and grow. We wish him all the very best and will miss him around the club - his good nature and sincerity have made him an enormous asset to the club  through many difficult years, and now, having seen the club on the rise once more, his timing is, as always, perfect.

From everyone at St George Randwick Hockey club, Good luck mate

St.George Randwick 2010 Fees

Fees for 2010 have been set.  There been a slight increase to 2009 to help cover higher Field Hire, Insurance, and Umpiring among other costs.

In the fees is a reward for those Players who contribute to the Club eg. assist at our Bunning’s BBQ during 2010.  Those who help out at a shift will reduce their fees by $20 p/shift.  We aiming for 3 Bunning’s BBQ in 2010 therefore up to $60 can come off those Players fees.  We are also creating a Sponsorship Club for players and friends of the club – with Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze categories.

Our Senior Fee rates at St George Randwick Hockey are slightly higher to support our Junior, Uni/TAFE students, and players on a reduced wage or still at school. This is a service to our community, and a way of helping some of our mates who are struggling financially. Having said that, on reviewing other Clubs fees for 2010 our Fees Structure is similar to other PL clubs.

Those Players playing in 3rd or 4th Division rates are slightly less than those playing PL or 2nd Division - which bring them closer to those Clubs just playing in the lower Divisions.

St George Randwick Vets shine

St. George Randwick playersDavid Wells, Garry Morrison and Clive Harrison are State Champions in the Vets O55s after a gruelling Carnival in the 'gong over the weekend.

Playing 6 games in 3 days with the Sutho / St.George side they only lost one game, scoring 15 goals for and only conceding 2 for the carnival. Ex-Randwick player Godfrey Phillips was also in the team.

St.George Randwick were also well represented by Rick McConnell (playing for Illawarra) who once again was selected in the NSW O55s team to play in Bunbury next year and who had an outstanding Carnival.

Go the old blokes!
